Evidence-Based Practices Institute
Institute Overview
The Institute offers guidance to institutional teams on incorporating quality, equity, and evidence of effectiveness into institutional practices and programs to more intentionally advance and accelerate Latino, and all, student success, drawing on Excelencia’s experience of more than 20 years with evidence-based practices that work for Latino students. Institute offers institutional teams 22 hours of technical assistance support during the virtual Institute and follow-up sessions to learn: 1) elements of program evaluation to measure programs and practices that advance Latino student success; 2) strategies to demonstrate the impact of programs and practices on accelerating Latino student success; and 3) different approaches to document intentionality using disaggregated data as evidence of effectiveness from representatives of Seal of Excelencia certified institutions and Examples of Excelencia recognized programs.
The Evidence-Based Practices Institute supports institutions that have engaged with Excelencia to self-assess efforts with a Latino lens and have begun to build capacity to leverage disaggregated data to more intentionally serve Latino students, while serving all students.

Testimonios
– Aaron Hamilton, Wichita State University
"Our team found the Institute to be helpful and rewarding. The focus on incorporating quality, equity, and evidence into our practices prompted critical reflection on our existing programs and measurement strategies. Hearing from other institutions working with Excelencia was a highlight, providing inspiration and valuable insights. Thank you!"
